Who we are
This website is operated by [PLACEHOLDER: registered legal name of the business], doing business as Depth & Duty Timepieces, located in [PLACEHOLDER: city and state, or mailing address]. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means that business. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@depthandduty.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if you provide it, your phone number.
- Watch details: brand, model, reference number, condition, box and papers, asking price and anything else you write in the form.
- Photos you attach of your watch and its paperwork.
- Your message and how you prefer to be contacted.
If you buy from us, sell to us, consign or trade, we may also collect information needed to complete and record the transaction, such as payment and shipping details and a government-issued photo ID. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm with your attorney which records the law requires you to keep for purchases and consignments, and for how long.]
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics tools or tracking cookies. [PLACEHOLDER: update this section and the Cookies section below if analytics, chat or advertising tools are ever added.]
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and prepare offers, consignment terms or trade proposals.
- To complete, document and support a transaction you agree to.
- To meet legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
- To protect against fraud and the sale of stolen property.
Who helps us handle it
A few service providers process information on our behalf, only so we can run this website and reply to you:
- Website hosting: Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.
- Inventory listings: Wristly, which supplies our watch listings and photos. When you view a listing, your browser loads the photos from Wristly's image storage, which receives standard technical data such as your IP address.
- Forms: Wristly, the customer and inventory platform we use. What you enter in our forms, and any photos you upload, is sent to Wristly, saved in our Wristly account and emailed to us. Wristly may also use standard technical data such as your IP address to prevent spam and abuse.
- Email: [PLACEHOLDER: email provider, for example Google Workspace or Microsoft 365].
We may also share information when the law requires it, such as a valid request from law enforcement, or to protect our rights and the rights of others.
How long we keep it
[PLACEHOLDER: how long you keep inquiries that never become a transaction, and how long you keep transaction records.]
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@depthandduty.com. We will honor deletion requests unless we are required by law to keep a record.
Cookies
This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. When you choose "Allow" or "Decline" in the cookie banner, your browser saves that choice on your own device so the banner doesn't keep reappearing. It is not sent to us. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie Settings" link at the bottom of every page. If we ever add optional tools such as analytics, they will only run after you choose "Allow."
Do Not Track
Because this website does not track visitors across sites, it does not change its behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to Instagram, Facebook and Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and what you do there is governed by them.
Security
This website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, so please don't send full card numbers or bank details through the website forms.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
